Welcome to Shomaisou Shiba Inu. We are undergoing a facelift at this site so you may still see pages in the old format. This page includes current litter announcements, puppy updates, evaluation links, and placement information for families following our breeding program. We will be doing a complete re-write of our FAQ and have decided that Newsletters and the Blog below were redundant, so we will continue doing updates to our Blog below and we will preserve the older Newsletters.

Our puppies are raised with careful attention to health, structure, temperament, breed type, and best-fit placement. Final placement decisions are made thoughtfully as puppies mature and are evaluated.

Current & Upcoming Litters at Shomaisou and Co-Owned Programs – Spring/Summer 2026 Update

We have had an extremely active and exciting spring season across both Shomaisou and several of our co-owned breeding programs. Below is a summary of our current litters, recent litters, and a few expected litters planned for Summer 2026.

As always, our focus remains on preservation breeding, temperament, structure, health, and placing each puppy into the most appropriate long-term home.

Bonnie Bravo Litter

Litter Number: Bonnie Bravo
Born: February 2, 2026
Dam: Here I Am @ House of Treasure
Sire: Gaylord’s Kami of Shomaisou

Puppies: 2 girls, 5 boys

This litter was whelped and raised by co-breeders in West Virginia and later attended Puppy Preschool with our co-breeder partnership in Michigan.

Home decisions for this litter have already been completed.

Journey Alpha Litter

Litter Number: Journey Alpha
Born: February 23, 2026
Dam: Gaylord’s Great Adventure at Takikawa
Sire: Morningstar’s Purple Reign

Puppies: 3 girls

This litter was whelped, raised, and ultimately placed into their homes following Puppy Preschool in Michigan.

Home decisions for this litter have already been completed.

Gift Alpha Litter

Born: March 14, 2026
Dam: Morningstar-Gaylord My Gift To You
Sire: Morningstar Picasso’s Art Collection

Puppies: 2 black & tan girls, 1 sesame boy

This litter was whelped and raised here at Shomaisou before attending Puppy Preschool in Michigan.

Home decisions have been made, although not all families have been formally notified yet.

Oami Alpha Litter

Born: April 20, 2026
Dam: Gh Oami Wanna Know Me @ Shomaisou
Sire: Morningstar Picasso’s Art Collection

Puppies: 1 red boy, 1 red girl

This litter was whelped here at Shomaisou and is currently being raised by co-breeders in West Virginia. The puppies are scheduled to attend Puppy Preschool in Michigan after May 26th.

Home decisions have not yet been made.

Sakura Alpha Litter

Litter Number: Sakura Alpha
Born: May 5, 2026
Dam: Gaylord’s Cherry Blossom of Shomaisou
Sire: Gaylord’s Kami of Shomaisou

Puppies: 2 black & tan girls

This litter was expertly whelped and is being raised by local co-owner Dr. Rebecca Pentacost, DVM.

Home decisions have not yet been made.

Chupa Delta Litter

Born: May 2, 2026
Dam: Daydream’s Wild Adventure @ Gaylord
Sire: Morningstar’s Purple Reign

Puppies: 1 red boy, 2 black & tan boys, 2 black & tan girls

This litter was whelped and is currently being raised here at Shomaisou. The puppies are expected to attend Puppy Preschool around 5 weeks of age.

Home decisions have not yet been made.

Expected Summer 2026 Litters

Addiko × Reign

Dam: Gaylord’s Addiko @ Shomaisou
Sire: Morningstar’s Purple Reign
Expected Whelp Date: Approximately July 2, 2026

We are very excited about this planned breeding and hopeful for an outstanding combination of temperament, structure, and overall breed type.

Manami × Reign

Dam: Takikawa Manami of Shomaisou
Sire: Morningstar’s Purple Reign

This breeding is also expected this summer, with additional details and estimated timing to be announced once confirmed.

Availability & Placement Process

Please remember that we do not operate on a traditional “first deposit picks puppy” system. We do not take deposits before specific puppies are offered. Final placement decisions are made after temperament and structural evaluations, with the goal of matching each puppy to the most appropriate home and lifestyle.

Many of our litters participate in our Puppy Preschool partnership program in Michigan, which provides extensive socialization, environmental exposure, confidence-building, and developmental enrichment during critical early stages.

Families interested in future litters are encouraged to follow our updates closely, participate in photo album discussions and development tracking, and remain engaged throughout the evaluation process.
